Transforming Government since 2001

Countries worldwide are investing billions to develop future cities, motivated by global challenges such as the housing crisis and climate change. The Line, a striking 500-meter skyscraper designed to accommodate nine million residents in northwestern Saudi Arabia, is one such initiative.

Additional examples include Telosa in the USA, BiodiverCity in Malaysia, and Egypt's New Administrative Capital. One recently finished smart city is Arkadag in Turkmenistan, Central Asia

This new regional capital of Ahal province, located near the Iranian border and 30 km from the national capital Ashgabat, was built in under five years and spans over 950 hectares. Inaugurated on June 29, 2023, in a grand ceremony attended by President Serdar Berdymukhamedov, the city stands out with all its buildings painted white.

Residential apartments are all seven stories high - a lucky number in Turkmenistan - and only electric vehicles are permitted.

The city, which boasts full 5G digital coverage, cost a staggering $3.2 billion to construct and will initially house 70,000 residents.

The futuristic mega-city features administrative buildings, a horse circus, a research center, and cultural venues.

Health and education are also prioritized, with medical facilities and universities easily accessible via broad roads.

The city's design includes various social infrastructures, such as kindergartens, an urban amusement park, and numerous other amenities.

To stimulate the region and generate jobs, plans are in place for 130 hectares of new industrial zones, primarily for medical and agricultural food businesses.

Everything from housing to urban infrastructure in Arkadag is undergoing digitization.

It's expected to become a significant trade route for Central Asia with Iran, forming part of the eastern corridor of the INSTC, the International North-South Transport Corridor.
