The winners of the 2015 Australian Government ICT Awards have been recognised for initiatives in eGovernment and excellence in the use of ICT.

The Australian Taxation Office won the Overall Excellence in eGovernment Award and was the Service Delivery Category Award Winner for its myTax initiative which the judges said made participation in the tax system "as easy as possible" and "minimises the cost and time involved in meeting this obligation"

The Applications Development Category was taken out by the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) for its program eMedical which has, to date, processed more than 1.3 million Australian immigration health cases.

The ICT Young Professional of the Year Award went to Benjamin Nicholls of Queensland's Department of Education and Training who manages a team of engineers responsible for School and Corporate connectivity throughout Queensland.

The ICT Professional of the Year Team Award went to Interactive Learning Solutions, Shared Services Centre, Canberra for the LearnHub for use by Government Agencies.

The judges said the introduction of LearnHub "enables Agencies and the Commonwealth Government to achieve significant savings in the learning technology space, while reducing duplication of training materials and improving consistency across the APS".

The ICT Professional of the Year Award went to Ann Yardley of the Sunshine Coast Council for her work that the judges said had "transformed not only the information and communications component of Council, but the business itself".

Finalists in the Excellence in eGovernment Award included the Australian Bureau of Statistics Canberra for its Data by Region project; Australian Law Reform Commission Sydney for their Law Reform WiKi; Department of Immigration & Border Protection for ImmiCard; and, Geoscience Australia for GA Explorer.
