The Silver Lining Consultancy Group, which includes Chamonix IT Consulting and Kloud Solutions, has established a new Cloud Technology Centre of Excellence in Melbourne.
It was opened by Minister for Technology, Gordon Rich-Phillips on August 28.
The centre will facilitate access to Cloud consulting, system engineering and support services and will focus on areas such as communication and collaboration technologies, Cloud infrastructure services, the development and integration of current environments to the Cloud and custom-enabled applications, as well as identity and access management.
There will be about 117 jobs created including technical and business consultants, system engineers, service delivery and sales.
“Victoria is set to benefit through enhancing local capability, skills and creating new technology opportunities for Victorian companies and ICT professionals,” Rich-Phillips said in a statement.
“This is a significant jobs boost for our ICT industry and will contribute to Victoria’s standing as a competitive and dynamic ICT hub in the Asia Pacific.”
Kloud Solutions managing director, Nicki Bowers, said there was further capacity for growth in Victoria.
“Given the Victorian Government’s recent shift from an eServices panel to the eServices Register, and support for cloud-aware initiatives, we believe the opportunity exists for government departments to create further efficiencies by using cloud based technologies,” Bowers said.
Kloud has offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane.
In July, Bowers revealed plans to double its business this year.
