The Chair of the AIIA, Kee Wong, said the just launched e-Services Register represented a “collaborative effort between the Government, AIIA and industry to improve Government’s access to a broad range of quality ICT services.”
“It provides large and small ICT service providers the opportunity to engage with Government on a level playing field.
“In particular, the AIIA applauds the Government for supporting the growth of Victoria’s local ICT industry.”
Wong said that providing the opportunity for a larger pool of companies, including local small and medium sized ICT businesses to offer their services to Government would “stimulate innovation, drive a healthy and competitive market and an enabling environment for our entrepreneurs of the future.”
Victora's Technology Minister, Gordon Rich-Phillips,said the new eServices Register would replace the eServices Panel to enhance greater market competition and increase innovation and productivity through more efficient processes.
“The eServices Register will provide a simplified process for Victorian ICT companies bidding for government work, and allow the Victorian Government to make more informed purchasing decisions from a greater range of suppliers as well as monitor the range and scope of eServices engagements.
“The Victorian Government will have better access to the small to medium sized Victorian based ICT companies that are often at the forefront of industry innovation – and maximise their opportunities to win government ICT contracts.”
