In the last few years, there has been dip in the number of doctors. They've been found to be keen on practicing in metropolitan areas.
Telehealth is a technological application. This is used to communicate between medical professionals and patients. Eventually, it lends comfortable communications between all parties. This endeavor has been appreciated by people as it is being perceived as a mechanism that would address problems in remote areas of Australia.
Such services are best for the residents who are not anywhere close to a medical specialist. The technology could turn out to be very positive and it is expected to reach 2,500 patients. The funds will be benefiting 50 communities that are in dire need of the health services.
The funding will be offered for initiatives by the CSIRO, the Royal District Nursing Service, Feros Care and the Hunter New England Health District. Overall, funds for the project have been estimated to be around $20.3 million.
