Transforming Government since 2001
The South Australian Government is again asking for public and ICT industry input to its SA Connected position paper which it says is already provoking creative and innovative ideas. The paper will be used to shape the government’s future use of ICT services.

The government says feedback and ideas are already being submitted to the position paper which was released with the recent announcement by the South Australian Premier, Jay Weatherill, at an ICT Summit attended by more than 400 industry representatives.

South Australian Government Chief Information Officer, Andrew Mills, says working in partnership with the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) is helping to deliver the best ICT strategy.

“By engaging the AIIA to co-design SA Connected with us, we have been able to tap into the expertise they offer right from the start and this has been invaluable.” Mills said the paper outlined an agenda for government that focuses on the connections that ICT can enable and how the government can respond with “agility to the challenges and opportunities of the information age.” “The discussion this paper has provoked is encouraging and some creative and innovative ideas have emerged both during and after the summit.” The consultation period ends on 30 April and the government has said that views that have been shared will be consolidated and incorporated into a new strategy to be presented to Cabinet for consideration. “I urge anyone who has an interest in shaping the future of the State Government’s use of ICT to get involved today,” Mills said.
