Transforming Government since 2001
The public and members of the Information and Communications Technology industry have begun submitting feedback and ideas about SA Connected - the position paper that will help to shape the State Government’s use of ICT in the future.

The paper was launched by Premier Jay Weatherill at the recent ICT Strategy Summit that attracted over 400 industry representatives.

South Australian Government Chief Information Officer Andrew Mills says working in partnership with the Australian Information Industry Association is helping to deliver the best ICT strategy.

“By engaging the AIIA to co-design SA Connected with us, we have been able to tap into the expertise they offer right from the start and this has been invaluable,” said Mr Mills.

The paper outlines an agenda for government that focusses on the connections that ICT can enable and how the government can respond with agility to the challenges and opportunities of the information age.

It addresses the theme of connecting through five perspectives: serving people, securing resilience, improving delivery, working together and innovating now.

“The discussion this paper has provoked is encouraging and some creative and innovative ideas have emerged both during and after the summit,” said Mr Mills.

The consultation period ends on 30 April 2013 and the views that have been shared will be consolidated and incorporated into a new strategy that will be presented to Cabinet for consideration.

“I urge anyone who has an interest in shaping the future of the State Government’s use of ICT to get involved today,” said Mr Mills.
