The awards recognise excellence, innovation and professionalism in the use of information and communications technology and nominations came from all spheres of government across Australia.
Senior Manager of MoneySmart, Robert Drake said the award was a fantastic acknowledgement of ASIC’s unique approach to helping the community with money matters.
“This recognition echoes the positive feedback we regularly receive from users,” Mr Drake said.
“We know the best way to help people with their money is to give them simple practical guidance and achievable first steps, packaged in a clear, inviting design.”
Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasurer, Bernie Ripoll congratulated the ASIC team saying MoneySmart was an excellent user-friendly tool available to everyday Australians to help them improve their financial literacy and take better control of their personal finances.
“I’d like to congratulate ASIC and all of the staff in the MoneySmart team on this recognition of their outstanding work on the website,” Mr Ripoll said.
“MoneySmart is a key initiative in the Government’s National Financial Literacy Strategy aimed at building the financial literacy skills of individuals and families to enable them to achieve their financial goals, address cost of living pressures and make the most of opportunities.”
