It has come to light that the project will be involving everything from building an operations centre and core ICT infrastructure for the PCEHR program, the project will also develop portals for healthcare suppliers and consumers for accessing to health records. Moreover, a call centre will also be built to handle inquiries about the system.
After being flooded with questions by suppliers, the Department of Health and Ageing has extended its deadline for the most-hyped IT project. The closing date for the tender was March 22 after which the department was scheduled to evaluate the capacity and capabilities of the respondents.
As the project was huge, the potential suppliers had many queries, therefore, before they fill the tender they flooded the department with number of queries due to which Government had to extend the deadline.
The department has postponed answering of the technical queries of the supplier till they have reached to second step of the selection. The department is answering other queries of suppliers. On being asked by a supplier about exact requirement expected from the project it terms of the latency (response time) of accessing centrally located health record over the network, the government replied that the performance of the system should not hinder the end user experience.
