Singapore has set up the Singapore e-Government Leadership Centre.

Information, Communications and the Arts Minister Lee Boon Yang said this was to facilitate the sharing of its brand of e-government solutions with developing countries.

The centre will train policy makers and telecoms regulators involved in information and communications technology.

The leadership training centre will also offer programmes in the area of e-government strategy, policies and implementation.

Dr Lee made the announcement at the International Telecommunication Union(ITU) Plenipotentiary Conference held in Ankara, Turkey.

He also said that Singapore was willing to extend its training to ITU members and was holding discussions with Turkey's Bureau for Telecommunication Development.
