Valérie Pécresse, French Minister for the Budget, Public Accounts and Administrative Reform, announced the launch of 'm.service-public.fr' by the Directorate of Legal and Administrative Information (DILA), as part of an effort to make information on the eGovernment portal accessible at all times. The announcement came following a report on improving the Public Administrations' digital relationship with users.
The overall purpose is to provide an initial mobile version of the eGovernment portal that integrates information and useful features in mobile environments in order to test its uses. Adaptations and enhancements of the service will be carried out in the future by taking into account feedback on user satisfaction.
'm.service-public.fr', which is adapted for all types of mobile phone browsers, enables smartphone users to benefit from such features as route planners, or to activate the 'click to call' function in order to contact an organisation or person directly.
The mobile site offers the following eGovernment portal services:
- government directory (with more than 55000 telephone numbers and email addresses of central, local and regional government authorities, public bodies etc.);
- practical guides 'Your Rights and Administrative Procedures' and 'What to do if...';
- latest news;
- a collection of key government websites and mobile applications.
