The move forms part of Hertfordshire County Council's ongoing commitment to maintain its Audit Commission Comprehensive Performance Assessment (CPA) ranking as the best performing of all 33 county councils in the country, currently held on the grounds of good social services, finances and e-government readiness.
Caroline Tapster, Chief Executive of Hertfordshire County Council, said "We operate one of the most innovative local authorities in the country, investing in technology and management processes that have proven successful in the private sector. LogicaCMG has worked closely with our internal project team to develop a solution that, in addition to our call centre and comprehensive transactional website, will maintain our ability to exceed central government targets and serve the needs of council tax payers."
Kevin Gorman, managing director of LogicaCMGs UK Public Sector said, "Hertfordshire County Council has an irrefutable record as a forward thinking local authority. Working with LogicaCMG to implement this change programme, the council will further improve its internal processes, replacing existing systems with a single, flexible solution that will accommodate the ever increasing demand for its services through operational efficiency. We will truly be modernising government."
Phil Bradbury, account manager, SAP UK, said, "Hertfordshire County Council continues to define best practice in local government, and its selection of SAP demonstrates it is fully committed to improving internal efficiencies and rolling-out new services to citizens. By selecting SAP, Hertfordshire will have the integrated platform necessary to maintain its strong record of performance."
