Transforming Government since 2001
Two public sector organisations in Scotland are to share ICT systems as part of a drive to make procurement savings, it is reported.

The Scottish Criminal Case Review Commission (SCCRC) is joining an information systems shared services agreement with Skills Development Scotland and Scottish Enterprise, according to publicservice.co.uk.

It is the latest in a line of shared procurement deals by organisations in the public sector , as budget pressures are forcing cost-saving measures.

Councils in Staffordshire and Derbyshire recently announced a seven-year shared ICT deal, while Leicestershire County Council and Nottingham City Council agreed terms for a partnership deal that it hoped to save around £2 million a year.

Damien Yeates, chief executive for Skills Development Scotland, told publicservice.co.uk: "Our combined vision centres on innovation around productivity, cost efficiency and transformation across public services – delivering significantly more of exceptional quality whilst driving costs down."
