The Office of Government Commerce has released a web based publication to support public sector procurement
The publication, launched on 12 May 2006, illustrates how the government engages with the IT industry and the potential benefits of this engagement.
It introduces a number of tools and techniques for successful market engagement, both at strategic level and at a project specific level.
Titled Early Market Engagement Principles and Examples of Good Practice, it also addresses whether budgets should be disclosed in the early stages of procurement.
It is part of OGC's Kelly programme, which deals with how the public sector can influence the balance between its own demand and the private sector's capacity to respond.
