Transforming Government since 2001
At a time when the financial and economic crisis is putting many African nations to task, Tunisia was ranked 66 overall (192 countries) by the 2010 UN Global E-Government Readiness Survey, after gaining 58 places in comparison with 2008 (124).

The report indicates that Tunisia comes on top of African countries and 7th among Arab countries.

Tunisia comes ahead of Oman (82), Egypt (86), Lebanon (93) as well as Syria (133).

Globally, Tunisia does better than China (72) and Turkey (69).

The 2010 UN Global E-Government Readiness ranking was completed in December 2009 and launched in early 2010. Its main aim is to assess UN member states in terms of their use of information and communication technologies to serve and interact with citizens. Its index includes a web measure index, a telecommunication infrastructure index and a human capital index.
