Developments and uses have increased with demand to match concerns over international, business and personal security.
With only a few months to go before Yemen presidential elections are to take place (February 2014), the coalition government has been keen to keep its promise of ensuring fair and free elections, in keeping with people's demands.
To fund such a project the government will use UNDP (United Nations Development Program) allocated funds. The integrated system consist of Suprema’s RealScan-D and Gemalto’s Coesys Solution.
Speaking on the project, James Lee, Suprema Inc President said in a press release, “The Arab Spring was the advent of free election and the pro-democracy movement in the Middle East. I believe there will be many more voter registration projects to follow. Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Turkey are expected to begin their projects in 2014 and Suprema will do its part by offering quality products.”
Suprema Inc. is scheduled to supply approximately 4,800 RealScan-D live scanners for the electronic voting project in Yemen.
