The deputy chief of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) is visiting Nepal from July 15, according to a release issued by the Kathmandu-based Korean Embassy.

Chang See-Jeong, Vice-president of KOICA, is scheduled to attend the inaugural ceremony of the Government Integrated Data Center (GIDC) in Singha Durbar.

The ceremony will be held on July 16 in the presence of the President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav and Hong Sungmog, Korean Ambassador to Nepal.

KOICA has spent a total of US$ 3.5 millions (NRS 235 millions) for the establishment of GIDC.

This project is designed to contribute to lay the foundations for e-Government in Nepal for better transparency, better services to citizens and more efficient management and administrative cost reductions, etc, according to the release.

During his stay in Nepal, Chang is also scheduled to meet the Minister of Finance Surendra Pandey and Finance Secretary Rameshore Prasad Khanal at the Ministry of Finance to discuss future bilateral development assistance programs.
