The establishment of an information society is amongst Government's top priorities. A number of projects devoted to developing and implementing solutions being in line with global demands and standards are under way. Our activities are focused on the advancement of e-infrastructure, e-citizens, e-business, e-education, e-health. Projects on the development of an electronic government fall into only one component, said Minister of Information Society Ivo Ivanovski after signing the memo.
The e-government project, added Ivanovski, thus far enabled the implementation of several applications, including the electronic public procurement system, customs system for export and import permits and tariff quotas, e-taxes...
The memo of understanding that was signed today, is a framework for our future cooperation covering various theoretical and practical trainings, development of procedures and strategic documents, exchange of experiences at different levels, Gordana Toseva, director of USAID-funded e-gov project stated.
According to her, USAID through the e-gov project for five years had been working to improve the quality of state administration services towards business subjects and citizens.
It means easier interaction between both parties, faster communication, efficiency, transparency and cost reduction while providing services, she added.
Macedonia must make utmost efforts in order to use the available information and communications technologies in a bid for the economy and society in general to progress. This is the joint vision of the Government and USAID.
The e-gov project will last till 2010.
With the introduction of fresh and original solutions, the lives of citizens will become easier, stated Minister Ivanovski.
