By the end of this month, citizens will be able to use their ID card and driver's license in electronic form.

The Ministry of Digital Transformation expects final comments from Poland, where the application has been sent for testing, within 3 weeks.

However, whether a digital ID card or driver's license will be accepted for identification will remain at the discretion of the institutions.

The "Paperless Skopje" concept means a digital city in which every administrative process is accessible and visible, said SDSM's candidate running for Skopje mayor, Kaja Shukova.

In a statement to the media on Wednesday, Shukova said she will put into service the "Open Budget", "e-Skopje" and "SMART Skopje 2" tools and projects, thus increasing transparency in the work of the city administration.

On 18 June 2013, the mobile application of the ‘See, Report, Fix’ project was launched in the municipality of Aerodrom (in Skopje) in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Information Society and Administration, Martha Arsovska Tomovska.

The project aims on the one hand to strengthen national and local systems’ integrity by providing transparency and accountability to citizens and municipalities in order to improve the municipal services provided. On the other hand, it is an opportunity to engage citizens more actively in the work of the municipal administrations to solve problems.

Over 246 thousand citizens in multiple institutions use one email address and one password to register for various systems in the country, in an easy, fast and efficient way, which is enabled by the Ministry of Digital Transformation.

As the Ministry announced, registration in the Single Login System (SEN) is possible if the citizen is an adult citizen of Macedonia or has a regulated residence in accordance with applicable legal regulations. Upon first registration, the citizen automatically becomes a user of the National Portal for Electronic Services – uslugi.gov.mk.

In February 2013, the Minister of Information Society and Administration, Mr Ivo Ivanovski, announced the launch of a project called the ‘Introduction of a system for tracking the status of a document through the use of mobile technologies’. Its aim is to improve efficiency and ensure greater transparency in public administration.

The project will be implemented for those public bodies that have not yet introduced electronic systems for tracking the status of citizens’ requests. Its main objective is to create an integrated document management system for the state administration bodies to track and store documents electronically.
