The Interior Ministry's action plan aims at achieving e-administration project to ensure quality services to citizens, Minister Noureddine Bedoui said Sunday in Algiers.

Chairing a conference on the modernization of local administration, Bedoui said the action plan of the ministry, based on several lines, tends to "gather the conditions necessary for the establishment of e-administration project."

There is a need "to continue" efforts for the entry into force of the national biometric identity card project, which is among the priorities of the sector in view of its numerous advantages.

Moreover, the ministry's action plan includes the creation of database to store the data and software for electronic services provided by the interior ministry departments, said the minister.

The plan includes "actions" for completing the creation of a national file for secured driving licenses holders and the establishment of a national file of traffic offenses, the minister added.

He also mentioned "the elaboration of a digital file to monitor local development programs which will allow," he has said, "to assess the progress of these projects and identify the encountered difficulties."

Bedoui announced "the creation of a communal network which will allow the exchange and the transfer of data for better management of local affairs."

Such a network will help reinforce communication between "the local administrations and the central administration," the minister stressed.
