Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister GM Quader last evening said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has correctly envisioned Vision-2021 to advance the nation by adapting with the competitive global scenario.

There is no alternative to learn and utilize the information and communication technologies (ICT) by ensuring easier access of the mass people to information, computers, internet and other digital devices to achieve the development goals, he said.

The PM's Vision-2021 in the present context of globalization will achieve goals of the government's pre-election pledges of Charter of Changes to turn Bangladesh into a corruption-free medium income nation by the year 2021, he said.

The minister was addressing the concluding ceremony of Divisional Digital Innovation Fair-2011 at Rangpur Zila Parishad Community Centre auditorium as the chief guest with Additional Divisional Commissioner Mian Abdullah Mamun in the chair.

Divisional Commissioner Jashim Uddin Ahmed, VC of Begum Rokeya University Prof Dr Abdul Jalil Miah, People's Perspective Expert of A2I Programme Naimuzzaman Mukta, DC and SP of Rangpur addressed as the special guests.

The A2I Programme of the Prime Minister's Office and Rangpur Divisional Commissioner's Office jointly organised the fair on January 17 and 18.

GM Quader said thousands of thronging young generations and students in the fair and their interest in the ICT and digital devices in the two-day digital innovation fair have proved that Bangladesh has been moving towards the right directions.

He highly appreciated the innovative digital ways in providing e-services using ICT to the people in the fair under the ongoing digitalization process under the Access to Information (A2I) Programme being run from the PM's Office.

He urged all concerned to works sincerely with changed mindsets in making the Vision-2021 programme successful by reaching all government services easily to the doorsteps of the common people through digitalized ICT.

The Divisional Commissioner thanked the A2I authorities for ranking the Rangpur divisional digital innovation fair as the best one so far arranged in the country and expressed his satisfactions as thousands of enthusiastic people visited the fair.

Naimuzzaman Mukta narrated goals of digitalization in line with the directions of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from the bottom to the top layers to build a corruption- free digital Bangladesh by providing all information and services with accountability to the people.

The speakers said the fair has played successful roles in sensitizing and bridging the people including the youths with the ICT, rights to information and easily getting the government services as envisioned by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Later, Panchagarh district administration was adjudged first for setting up of the best stall and extraordinary performances achieved in Panchagarh in the process of building a digital Bangladesh and providing the best services to the people in the fair.
