The Ministry of Communications & IT of Azerbaijan forecasts a double rise of investment in the sector of information and communication technologies (ICT) of Azerbaijan until 2020.
Communications & IT Minister Ali Abbasov informs that last year investments in ICT development totaled $415 million.
"This figure is going to increase up to $800 million until 2020. The Azerbaijani government alone plans to invest $1 bn for the next 8-10 years in the ICT development, in particular, implement E-Government Program, ensure information security and fight against cybercrime. At that, $3-4 billion will be invested in development of the private ICT sector of Azerbaijan at the expense of governmental sources and foreign investments,” the minister emphasized.
