The MCIT reports that the project aims at creating a state information system of Electronic Government (EHDIS). System entry will be carried out through an e-signature certificate that will promote to growth of demand for electronic digital signature (EDS).
To date, the ICC has sold 900 e-signature certificates.
In the first two days after the EDS presentation the Centre received about 600 applications for e-signature receipt, and 50% of them from governmental agencies, including the Ministries of Taxes, of Economic Development, the State Customs Committee, the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture, etc. The population still does not show much interest in EDS: 10-12% of the submitted applications accounts for ordinary citizens, but EDS is awaiting their activation after launch of portal E-Government.
Under EDS issue terms, e-signature is issued to the customer within 2-3 days from the day of receipt of the application. Commercial individuals and legal entities, and citizens can apply for EDS in the offices of national postal operator Azerpoct, and governmental agencies will get EDS directly in the MCIT Centre.
The cost of EDS for the population, depending on its duration, is 14-30 manats, for civil servants - 135 manats for three years, and for commercial structures - 60-168 manats.
