The implementation of the State Program on E-Health Cards Application started in Azerbaijan from 5 September 2007.
According to the Center of Social Health and Reforms of the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan, 580,000 e-cards were issued to parents of newborns and preschool children were issued within this state program.
Meanwhile, 270 children's facilities of the country were connected to centralized e-database within the state program. This state program is aimed at creation of the centralized e-database on the health of Azerbaijani citizens.
This database which is kept in the Information Center of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Health receives information about some personal data, disease record, and medical insurance of a separate patient.
