Transforming Government since 2001
A majority of schools in Mathioya constituency have embraced Information Communications and Technology programmes. MP Clement Muchiri said the ICT programme is almost 100 per cent complete except for the newly started secondary schools. The MP said last weekend that the program has been successful due to funds from the local Constituency Development Funds and other partners of good will. "ICT programmes are now at the peak in most of the schools. This will enable all the students in secondary schools to have access to ICT right at their formative stage, thus guaranteeing excellence in E-learning promotion in this rapidly changing technological change," said the MP.

Muchiri who was accompanied who was accompanied by Maragwa MP Elias Mbau and Murang'a County director of Education Mary Gaturu was speaking during the Mathioya district education day at Rurii stadium in his constituency. He added that the local CDF has started installing electricity in all primary schools thus laying the foundation for ICT infrastructure.

There is also the Mathioya schools computerization programme, the Mathioya model student's programme through which 75 students in secondary schools from all the 25 sub locations are receiving full sponsorships. The theme of this year was 'Elimu Urithi Wetu.' Gaturu said the Government is committed in ensuring provision of quality education through provision of necessary resources which include FPE funds, FSE funds, teachers and other resources that are provided from time to time.
