During presentation of the project at a venture conference as part of the Scientific and Technological Entrepreneurship Program (STEP) Hrant Khachatryan said that works on the project development have lasted for two years, while the project is half-implemented.
5 aid stations of Armenia’s rural communities will be connected to telehealth network as part of the test launch in cooperation with UNICOMP company.
Doctors of rural aid stations will be provided with the opportunity to consult with their colleagues through a computer and special device for the connection to the network.
According to Hrant Khachatryan, the device costs around $500. However, during the first stage, devices will possibly be provided for free.
Meanwhile, high prices for software are among problems that hamper efficient introduction of telehealth network.
If needed investments are made, the system can be profitable from the very first day of its launch.
Hrant Khachatryan noted that foreign companies display interest towards the Armenian product. They want to introduce the system in African countries.
The Center for Telehealth Development participates in a grant competition as part of the Scientific and Technological Entrepreneurship Program, the results of which will be summarized on December 2.
