Estonia has pledged to assist Greece with e-government projects, in a memorandum of agreement signed between the two nations on September 9. Digital ID card system, digital signature and other e-government projects, already implemented in Estonia, will be adapted for Greece.
According to Tzortzakis, Greece is particularly interested in Estonia’s e-state program, which includes solutions that would increase transparency of governance. Greece is already using a number of modern IT solutions, yet many of them are based on old models and ideas, meaning that managing them is often too costly, he said.
