Transforming Government since 2001
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will support two projects implemented by e-Government Academy for improving the e-capacity of Palestinian Authority, writes Postimees Online.

The e-Government Academy will help develop the cross-use of electronic databases in Palestine in order to better administer and provide public services. Estonia’s experiences in organising e-training sessions and in using the information technology in administering the education sector will also be shared with Palestine.

Minister of foreign affairs Urmas Paet stated that Estonia has successfully built the IT solutions that considerably ease the work burden of State authorities and will improve their efficiency. “The use of modern ICT solutions will help creating e-services that are crucial for citizens and thus implementing good and transparent governance practices,” he explained. “It solutions will also offer many opportunities for systematic modernising and development of the education sector,” added the minister.

Currently, it is difficult to get the data in the databases of the Palestinian Authority in real time – it is only possible in the physical location of the database, but the movement of persons on the territory of the Palestinian Authority is very difficult. Therefore, similarly to Estonia, a platform for cross-use of databases is aimed to be created in Palestine.
