The Deputy Minister of Communications, Ernest Attuquaye Armah said this on behalf of Vice President, John Dramani Mahama, at the launch of E-Governance Leadership Capacity building programme in Accra.
The programme seeks to achieve greater efficiency, accountability, responsiveness and transparency in government.
Vice President Mahama said the existence of the E-Government Network and the National Data Centre assures the government of a shared, secured and high speed connectivity for sharing information and applications hosted within an infrastructure that facilitates the consolidation and aggregation of all the government's key computing resources in a secured and resilient facility.
Mr. Mahama commended the organisers of the programme saying it is crucial as most government programmes have failed due to lack of ICT orientation for government functionaries in leadership and managerial positions.
The Team Leader of E-Government Leadership Capacity Building Project, Dr. Kwame Boakye, said the importance of the project is to help civil and public servants to keep data to ensure transparency and accountability.
