Rehman Malik Minister for Interior on Friday categorically denied any foreign access to country’s organizations having data-collecting mechanism including National Database and Registration Authority.

He was talking to journalists after launching the CNIC Verification Service through SMS and NADRA’s newly designed website at NADRA headquarter.

He said CNIC verification service through mobile SMS will be a great help for law enforcement agencies and general public to wipe out menace of identity theft and terrorism which is a prime concern of government.

He said the government has planned to introduce modern database system in NADRA that will be helpful for business community besides other communities for getting relevant information.

He said that this service will definitely assist law enforcement agencies in these troubled times to remotely verify any registered citizen instantly through the use of mobile phone.

Earlier, addressing the launching ceremony, he said that with projects like BISP, KIOSK, VERISYS and Automated Border Control System, NADRA is playing a noteworthy role towards the implementation of E-Governance concept in Pakistan.

Malik said this initiative will prove to be a milestone to curb the crime in the country.
