The aim of the project is to develop a network infrastructure that will connect the Ministry of Home Affairs and the departments under it to the 'Pusat Data Gadong' or Gadong Data Centre (EG-Centre). It plans to also develop the e-Services that will allow the ministry to provide online services to the public at large.

The implementation of this e-Government project which is on the supply, delivery, installation, testing, commissioning, training and maintenance of IT infrastructure and e-Services is designed for the Ministry of Home Affairs to reach or contact the government and residents/citizens (G2C) electronically.

It also aims to improve cooperation between the Ministry of Home Affairs and other government agencies (G2G) through online collaboration.

The project can manage and coordinate all the processes and activities of the departments under the Ministry of Home Affairs in all four districts in a more organised and effective manner.

Besides that, this e-Government project can monitor the services that are provided to the residents of Brunei Darussalam and it can unify and computerise the manual processes with online applications.

Among the online services that will soon be provided is a portal as a gateway to provide services to manage communications between the ministry, departments and other government agencies.

Other services include receiving and managing services from the public through the 'e-Kampong' (e-Village) system, sharing information on the activities and events involving residents and government resources in each district and observing efficient services that are provided through Key Performance Indicators (KPI).

Services such as computerised and organised business licence applications through e-Licence system, e-Taxation and e-Building as well as collaboration and digitalisation of documents to all agencies under the Ministry of Home Affairs through Collaborative e-Office (CEO) and Electronic Document Management (EDMS) will also be provided.

The project will provide benefits such as improving the efficiency of public applications process especially those who are involved in the service counters and monitor the status of applications online.

Through this, the Ministry of Home Affairs and members of the public will be able to monitor public complaints in a more systematic way from beginning to the end, to gather more comprehensive residents statistics and to apply for a job or job matching online.

All in all, the benefits of the MOHA e-Services are it will provide a more structured and management process, a solution driven by simplicity and flexibility, easy accessibility, easy search and retrieval process, increased organisation productivity and effectiveness, harness employee intelligence and ensure current information is captured.
