That is where the data will be stored and all the connectivity will be done in the building, he said in response to a question on ICT infrastructure and on data centre during a press conference.
For the linkage of all services at the moment, connectivity is done by Telbru and the central nerve system is with Telbru where they configure everything, he said.
Another project is the SPD project or land transport system project, where the public can apply online for their driving licence and road tax, which will be launched soon.
For public transport, we are doing a study on improving taxi service, he said.
On the progress of the airport expansion Pg Haji Abd Rahman bin PSI Pg Hj Ismail, Director of Civil Aviation, said a consultant has been appointed and an interim report is being drafted.
"Once it becomes a final report, appropriate action will be taken. At the moment, the two options are either an expansion or a construction of the terminal.
"Business activity expansion is also an area to concentrate for producing revenue for the department.
"Our vision is also moving towards a sophisticated society and enhancing national competitiveness. We will keep on improving our infrastructure. In terms of IT and the laying down of optic fibre, much of our technology are more advanced than other countries, such as the launching of 3.50 by b.Mobile and DST, said the deputy minister.
"Our backbone is optic fibre which has been there since 2000 but what we want to improve is on the human capacity side. Many e-government projects are being implemented. We have spent a lot of money on e-government projects.
"It was announced that you can register a company online now but how many people have the ability to use IT such as online registration? So our effort is to increase the capability of the nation to make sure its knowledge can be increased through AITI. We have a lot of programmes to enhance people's skills in ICT.
"We want the public to utilise what is there. In this plan there is a clear policy direction and clear regulatory framework and a clear implementation plan.
"The strategic plan is issued to ensure that it is in line towards supporting a knowledge-based economy and in supporting efforts to diversify the economy such as tourism.
"The strategic plan looks at enhancing an information society, towards an efficient communication.
"Looking at countries like Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia, all are enhancing communication efficiency and enhancing an information society. Thus it will self-assist in supporting the 10-year development plan.
"In terms of Internet penetration, we want it to be increased. Both b-Mobile and DST will launch the 3.5G, which is mainly about data with 3.5G broadband, and penetration will be increased.
"The speed of Internet is up to 3.5mb (maximum) e-speed 512kb so in terms of these developments, Internet penetration especially broadband penetration is increasing. Like many countries, we are going towards optic fibre.
"In the future, many will be using optic fibre as their backbone. However at this stage, we are still using copper fibre. With the new mobile phone going 3.5G we can browse the Internet with the speed of 3.5mb. Penetration will increase automatically.
"Corporatisation, of some of the departments under the ministry is feasible as some of the departments are service providers to the public and can survive from the revenue of their services. One of the departments that is being looked at is the Department of Post which can be corporatised."
