Forty-two staff from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Ministry of Defence, the Defence information Technology Unit (MTH) and the Defence Ministry Office and Directorate of Strategic Planning received their certificates Saturday afternoon upon completion of their training at de' Heritage IT Training Scbool.

The guest of honour, Awang Jaini bin Haji Abdullah, the Director at the Department of information and Communication Technology at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, handed over the certificates to course participants at a ceremony held at the Riverview Hotel in Gadong.

Awang Jaini said the implementation of e-government project in Brunei is predicted to cause an increase in the demand for computer professionals and technicians.

He said ICT professional courses are much needed to train staff as support specialists to provide technical assistance to government, customers and other users. The director advised participants to continuously upgrade their knowledge in ICT to enable them to keep up with the fast-changing technology.

He also congratulated de' Heritage IT Training School for successfully conducting the ICT professional courses and producing skilled and qualified human resources.

Meanwhile, de' Heritage Deputy Managing Director Khaininnisaa Saaniah binti Haji Kamsani said there were more than 60 participants attending the A+, Network+ and IC3 courses but only 42 participants managed to succeed in getting their professional certification.

She said 1CT certifications are valuable professional credentials globally recognised for computing proficiency.
