Fifteen Department Purchase Order (DPO) clerks from the government are undergoing a 3-day course on Purchase Order Processing (PO Processing) according to the Treasury Accounting and Financial Information Systems (TAFIS), which began at the Training Room of the Ministry of Finance, Jalan Kebangsaan yesterday.

The course is being conducted by BAG Networks Sdn Bhd.

TAFIS is an e-Government flagship initiative, led by the Ministry of Finance to improve the efficiency of government financial transaction processes - an initiative maintained and supported by BAG Networks.

Purchase Order, in this context, refers to the information of items a government department wishes to purchase; the information is entered into TAFIS to create a Purchase Order.

The course is aimed at providing the DPO clerks with an understanding of PO Processing in TAFIS, by getting them to create "committing funds for purchase orders" and to dispatching purchase orders into TAFIS.

The course was facilitated by Nora Hj Tahir and Siti Arpah Awg Ahmad.
