The Ministry of Religious Affairs continues its road show on E-Islam Information Kiosk in two districts - Belait and Tutong.

The Muhammad Jamalul Alam Mosque in KB has been chosen as the venue for the road show and the kiosk for the purpose of dissenminating religious information to members of the public throughout the Sultanate.

The informational electronic devices would be able to help in, and serve as a method of, distributing information as well as services offered by the ministry.

Three of the machines have since been placed in three mosques - the Muhammad Jamalul Alam Mosque, Pekan Belait Mosque and Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque in the Tutong District.

The Promotional E-Islam Kiosk Programme yesterday began with a short briefing by the Acting Assistant Director of Administration and Head of Information Technology Centre, Hj Abu Bakar Mohd Don, as the event's Chairperson.

He explained that the road show is one of the e-Government projects by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and that 18 machine units in total will be placed at the chosen locations.

It will serve as a way to increase methods of distributing information and hopefully will benefit the public. There are as many as 13 main topics inserted into each machine.

They contain facts and practical information about Islam, such as burial procedures, religious ceremonies, Syair Islam, Tahfiz Al-Quran, Islamic laws, mosques, Dakwah Islamiah, Syariah, the Haj and Umrah, Islamic studies, e-Government projects, websites as well as other general information related to Islam.

On hand to accept the kiosk machine was the Head Religious Officer of Belait, Pg Hj Yunos Pg Hj Mohd Salleh, who was also the event's guest of honour.
