The Ministry of Religious Affairs yesterday held a roadshow to promote its e-Islam Information Kiosk on the ground floor of Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Yayasan Shopping Complex in the capital.

The ceremony began with a recitation of Al-Fatihah, followed by welcoming remarks by Awang Haji Abu Bakar bin Mohd Don, Acting Assistant Director of Administration at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Chief of Information Technology Centre.

Also in attendance were senior officials from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, representatives and invited guests from the private sector.

Later, Religious Affairs Ministry Senior Special Duties Officer PgAnak Datin Hjh Masnah bte Pg Anak Haji Saifuddien presented the kiosk to the complex's representative, Pg Hjh Noor Yashimah bte Pg Anak Hj Hashim, real estate manager of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.

The complex is the 12th location for the kiosk, with seven at mosques in the Brunei-Muara District including Omar Ali Saifuddin Mosque in the capital and Jame' 'Asr Hassanil Bolkiah in Kg Kiarong.

Meanwhile, the roadshow is aimed at disseminating information on the daily life of the Muslim community in the country, including activities related to mosque affairs, Islamic propagation, and haj, using easy and innovative ICT medium; and enhancing the Islamic knowledge of the users.

The contents of the kiosk include information on the services offered by the Ministry of Religious Affairs Department such as e-government projects, Islamic Religious Council, and useful general information on issues such as Muslim burials.

The ministry's roadshow will continue to be held at strategic locations.
