President Rodrigo Roa Duterte is expected to attend the National Information Communications Technology (ICT) Summit 2018 at the SMX Convention Center in SM Lanang, Davao City.
To be held on June 21 to 22. The National ICT Summit will gather around 700 delegates composed of government executives, ICT practitioners and stakeholders from the private sector. The summit holds the theme “Empowering the Filipino through Digital Transformation”
The President will be addressing the participants during the summit which showcases government initiatives towards digital transformation under his presidency.
The summit is the culmination of the National ICT Month. The two-day event will present various government ICT projects which provides efficient services to the Filipinos. The National ICT Month has the theme “Thrive Through Disruption: Inclusion, Empowerment, Sustainability.”
Plenary sessions in the summit will delve on on e-Government Master Plan (eGMP), digital cities, cybersecurity, and data privacy, among others. Consumer protection and digital inclusion, meanwhile, will be the topics to be discussed during the parallel tracks.
At the start of the summit Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio will welcome the delegates to the City.
The NICT Summit is organized by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), in partnership with the Chief Information Officers Forum, Inc. (CIOF) and the CIOF Foundation, Inc. (CIOFF).
