The Cardinal Santos Medical Center (CSMC) will be developing digital health solutions together with Voyager Innovations, Inc. – a wholly owned subsidiary of Smart Communications, Inc - in a bid to set the standards for doctor-patient engagement in the Philippines.

According to an official statement, the hospital is undertaking efforts to develop mobile health solutions, a digital health platform and an electronic portal to enable users access useful information on improving patient care, hospital updates and other relevant information.

Just recently, the hospital launched the country’s first mobile app specially designed for hospitals. The CSMC app directly links patients to the hospital by providing a gateway where they can easily access information on crucial healthcare services, such as the hospital’s emergency room.

By using the app, users no longer have to memorise or research for a long list of telephone numbers. With its “Call Emergency Room” feature, users can directly call the ER call center to have an ambulance sent to their home. In addition,

Furthermore, the project builds on Smart’s award-winning Secured Health Information Network and Exchange (SHINE), a web and mobile-based electronic health information and referral system that addresses the data management needs of doctors, nurses, midwives, and allied health professionals in the Philippines.
