The timekeeping kiosk units will be installed at the new City Hall by December 2011, in time for the transfer of some City Government offices at the seven-storey building. Full transfer of all offices is expected before the end of January 2012.
A memorandum of agreement was signed on Monday, October 17, between the city mayor and PVB branch central services head Alfredo Santiago for the units.
Santiago admitted the biometrics is in exchange of deposit commitment, which the City Government maintains several substantial accounts with the bank.
Each unit costs P300,000 and will be placed at the different floors of the new City Hall building to avoid rush of employees in the morning. Aside from the free units, maintenance of the hardware and software will be shouldered by PVB.
The timekeeping kiosk system is a complete human resource information system that uses a combined ID swapping and fingerprint scanning technology that works in conjunction with the corresponding Veterans Bank payroll system.
The system is already in place in the municipalities of Oton and Mina, Iloilo but Iloilo City is the first city outside Metro Manila to be installed with PVB biometrics.
