Regional Director Benito Dy-Cesar Jr. said the project aims to give efficient and faster turn-around time for all transactions. It shortens processing time for those without hearing from two and a half months to just one week and those with hearing from two years to just a month.
He explained the computerization is expected to lessen movement of documents which is less prone to faking and fixing.
Once computerization starts, a laser card would be given to franchise holders which can be used at all LTFRB offices nationwide.
All the franchise holder needs to do is to swipe the laser or ‘optical card’ on the machine that would be installed in all LTFRB offices and he would be able to check on the status of the vehicle franchise.
This project is made possible through PGMA’s funding of e-government projects, Cezar added.
