Transforming Government since 2001
Nigeria Tuesday in Geneva accepted a proposal from on ICT partnership and e-government with five other countries to facilitate rapid development of the sector.

The other countries are Saudi Arabia, India, Singapore, South Africa and Azerbaijan.

This was the outcome of a meeting between Nigerian information and communications minister, Prof. Dora Akunyili, and mr Asraf Dulu, mauritius' minister of information and communications technology.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that both ministers are in Genevafor the ongoing International Telecommunications Union (ITU) Telecom World 2009.

Akunyili said: ``With this kind of e-platform, we will all come in from our positions of strength. This is actually the brainchild of the minister of information and communications of Mauritius, and we have bought into the idea.

Dulu had earlier said that his interest in Nigeria was borne out of its strides in the ICT industry, particularly the telecommunications sector.
