Digital economy is the term it uses to describe the network of suppliers and users of digital technologies that enable everyday life.
These technologies enable businesses to be innovative and productive; help governments to provide services; and allow citizens to interact and to transmit and share information and knowledge.
Digital technology and infrastructure, content creation and digital media delivery, copyright, media and telecom ownership, social media and e-commerce, e-health and e-government are among the many topics up for discussion.
Interested parties can review some existing literature and white papers on the subject, and provide their views online, at www.digitaleconomy.gc.ca, before July 9, 2010.
Registered users of the digitaleconomy.gc.ca consultative website can now share their postings with friends via Facebook, Twitter and email.
The digital economy online consultation is a joint initiative between Industry Canada, Human Resources and Skills Development Canada and Canadian Heritage.
