Transforming Government since 2001
New Brunswick is poised to have high-speed Internet access available to all homes and businesses by the end of the month.

The provincial government committed $13 million last year to provide broadband access to the 10 per cent of New Brunswickers who didn't already have it.

Premier Shawn Graham says the project is on track to wrap up two months ahead of schedule.

Barrett Xplore Inc., is providing access to high-speed Internet through a network of 161 towers in the province and satellite in more remote areas.

Meanwhile, Bell Aliant is developing a fire-optic network in Saint John, Fredericton, Bathurst, Miramichi and the greater Moncton area.

Graham says having broadband access ensures rural New Brunswickers have greater opportunities to improve their education, maximize their employment options and make the most of government services.
