Provincial Health Minister Theresa Oswald today announced a $6,000,000 pilot project called 'CareLink', that will enable patients making after-hours/non-urgent phone calls to doctors' offices and clinics to automatically connect with a Health Links provincial call centre.
The CareLink project will also assist chronic disease patients with self-care guidance via the call centre and TeleHealth videoconferencing.
The CareLink project builds on an initiative by the Province to implement electronic health records for all Manitoba patients, making their key medical history available to all authorized providers in the province.
