LG CNS, an information technology service provider, announced on Thursday that it has established an intelligent platform for advanced automated agricultural production in the southern city of Naju.

The smart farm project, spanning 543,000 square meters of fields, features an AI-driven platform that analyzes soil and meteorological data to optimize fertilizer usage and irrigation schedules, while also predicting pest outbreaks and recommending pesticides.

Incorporating predictive models for crop yields and prices, the platform also aims to stabilize farmers' income by leveraging historical weather data from the region.

It also enables the remote management of unmanned agricultural machinery such as tractors, rice transplanters and drones.

"We will continue to actively promote smart city services, including smart farms, to provide differentiated customer experiences," said Lee Jun-ho, a senior executive of the company affiliated with LG Group.
