The conference, which will last until May 13, aims to rediscover the desirable role and function of government in the aspect of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and plans to discuss cooperative measures among Asia-Pacific nations through presentations on “current e-Government conditions” by nation.
Kim Nam-seok, Deputy Minister of MOPAS, said, “This is a valuable opportunity to promote the Korean e-Government across the globe as well as to benchmark shining examples of overseas nations. As a leader in the e-Government sector, Korea will share its meaningful results achieved in a relatively short period of time with the international community and will contribute to the development of e-Government around the world as a partner of the global village.”
With the Chief Information Officers’ Forum being held on the opening day of May 11, the conference is going to have various presentations on e-Government cases based on the development and geopolitical differences by nation on the next day. The cooperative measures in the Asia-Pacific region will be mainly discussed on May 13.
MOPAS anticipates that the conference will serve as an opportunity to make inroads into the Asia-Pacific market with the participation of major e-Government exporters, such as Samsung SDS (informatization village, On-Nara system, government integration center, e-customs system, e-procurement system), LG CNS (Minwon24, disaster management system, e-patent system, national tax system, e-passport), and SK C&C (mobile information security, public Sinmungo, mail)
