The program is available on the Ministry of Government Administration's website (www.mogaha.go.kr), the Korean e-government website (www.egov.go.kr), and local government websites and portal customer centers until April 11.
The program lets people track how their resident registration numbers have been used on the Internet since 2001. Many private and commercial websites require users to supply their resident registration numbers as proof of identity or age and this information is sometimes compromised.
By logging on to the tracking center with proof of identity such as credit card information, anyone can check to see if their number has been abused.
