As part of the digital transformation, the Ministry of Health launched e-health portal ‘Re-engineering’ project on Monday at an event at the Grand Millennium Hotel.

The launch ceremony was held under the auspices of Dr Hilal bin Ali al Sabti, Minister of Health, with the presence of Dr Fatima bint Mohammed al Ajmiyah, MoH’s Under-Secretary for Administrative, Financial, and Planning Affairs, along with director generals at the MoH and governorates, and heads of information technology in the directorates and hospitals

The health minister said the ministry is committed to government transformation plan (2021-2025) as well implementing digital initiative in the health sector. Al Sabti added that ministry is determined to complete the project of the National Digital Health Strategy in order to consolidate efforts among sectors.

The health minister emphasised the importance of integrating Artificial Intelligence in the health sector to boost health services in the community, pointing out that the ministry is keen to enact laws and regulations to activate electronic link and sharing medical record data with the public and private health institutions

The event highlighted basic elements of the system and the authorities concerned with approving the system’s design requirements, and clarified the details and work plan.

During the event, the methodology of streamlining e-services procedures and the implementation and development plan of the project were reviewed. A presentation on the digital health was also displayed.

The first phase of the MoH Digital Transformation project would focus on automating the electronic health services in the directorates of private health establishments, pharmaceutical affairs and drug control, in addition to medial staff licensing and other services related to business and individuals.
