The Ministry of Municipality and Environment yesterday launched a project which will help upgrade and make available about 300 services online under its digitization programme.
The initiative is part of a major project of the Ministry which is being implemented under Qatar e-Government 2020 Strategy.
The project will be implemented in 27 months in five phases continuously, said Hamda Al Ma’did, Director of Information Systems Department while speaking at the launching ceremony of the project. She said that initially, under the project more than 300 services will be upgraded in several sectors. “Today we launched the project of phase one and its time-frame is two months,” said Al Ma’did.
The project aims at developing services provided by the Ministry and making it available through a single portal on mobile phones and other digital devices to save time and effort of the employees and citizens.
The project is one of the most important strategic projects being implemented by the Ministry as part of its strategic plan based on the Qatar National Vision 2030, said Al Ma’did. The project is based on Qatar e-Government 2020 Strategy made by e-government committee (formed by the decision of the Prime Minister in 2013 and amended in 2016), which aims to make available services provided by the ministries and government organisations online.
