The jury for the Sultan Qaboos Award for Excellence in e-Government 2014 will begin its selection process on Saturday.

The jury of 11 international and two national panelists will evaluate the 70 projects over five days.

There are 58 projects from 27 government entities, seven from the private sector and five from the small and medium enterprises (SME) sector.

This year, the Sultan Qaboos Award for Excellence in e-Government 2014 contains 13 categories, including nine for government entities which include the five core categories of best e-content, best e-service, best e-project that contains two sub-categories - collaborative and interoperable and e-readiness.

There are five sub-categories under e-service - G2G, G2E, G2B, G2C and mobile services. Under the e-project category there will be two sub-categories for individual and collaborative.

The private sector big organisations would be competing in the best public mobile e-services and the best public e-services categories.

The SMEs, which are in for the first time, would be competing in best public mobile e-services and best e-solution categories.
